MSU student documentary offers lessons about cutting back, enjoying life

It wasn’t so much his volunteer experience at a homeless shelter last summer that changed Josh Michels’ attitude about life.
It was when he returned to school at Michigan State University that the lessons finally hit him. To go from a world where people struggled just to meet the basic necessities to a world where students thought nothing of routinely dropping money on new clothes and nights out sparked an idea in Michel’s mind.
Was it possible to live with less and be happy?
He and five other MSU students have now attempted to answer that question with a documentary called “Thrive with Less.”
